Drawn by Hand, Made to Keep
Every TrapDraws piece begins the same way. One drawing, made entirely by hand. Sam works in colored pencil and fine-liner pen on handmade, deckle-edge paper, building each composition line by line.
There are two ways to bring one home. Own the original, the only one of its kind. Or own a limited archival edition, captured from that same original at museum standard.
The Original
Sam draws every piece by hand. His tools are simple: colored pencil, Sakura Micron fine-liners, and sheets of handmade paper with a torn deckle edge. The work carries its own texture, the grain of the pencil, the weight of the ink, the rough edge of the page. Sam signs every piece by hand.
Each original is the only one of its kind, and it stays that way.
The Capture
When an original is finished, we capture it at the standard galleries and museums use for fine-art reproduction. The piece is mounted on a magnetic wall and photographed with a large-format scanning back and a 105-megapixel medium format camera, at 300 PPI and above.
Our editors color-match every scan to the original by eye, checked against a printed proof, until the file reads true to the piece in hand. The pencil grain, the depth of the ink, and the deckle edge all carry through.
That master is archived as a high-resolution TIFF file, and every edition print is made from it.

Limited Editions
Each print is a numbered, limited edition. Editions open at 25, and once an edition sells out, it closes for good.
Every print is made to order from the archived master, so each one arrives fresh from the press. Because Sam's signature is part of the original artwork, it carries through to every edition print. Choose archival giclée on fine-art paper, canvas, or metal, each finished to last.
Certificate of Authenticity
Every edition print ships with its own Certificate of Authenticity, numbered to match the print. The certificate records the title, the edition number, the date, and the archival standard behind the print. It confirms the work as an authorized reproduction of Sam's original hand-drawn piece.
It is your proof that the edition is real, numbered, and made with the artist's authorization.
